Fish Passage & Stream Restoration

Erick Creek Fish Passage

Longview, WA

This project included the removal of an aging 10’ diameter steel culvert over Erick Creek on Abernathy Creek Road and replacing it with a Multi Plate Steel Arch Culvert with cast in place stemwalls, wingwalls and headwalls. Other critical elements of the project included installation of a stream bypass , restoration of the original streambed and removal of invasive vegetative species. The project also included the use of an automated 1-way directional traffic signal to route traffic around the construction site. This improvement will allow fish passage from the Columbia River, up Abernathy Creek and then into Erick Creek.
